The 2nd cycle degree programme in Economics and Business Administration provides students with advanced knowledge of business activities both within and across traditional functional boundaries. It provides inter-functional knowledge of the economic and managerial logics, methods and instruments available to entrepreneurs, managers and consultants in different business contexts (with a primary though not exclusive focus on middle-sized companies).

The programme offers students an international perspective aimed at fostering the internationalization of the companies they will work for. Students will therefore acquire the knowledge, logics, methods and instruments to undertake managerial careers in industrial businesses, services companies and consulting services, also through the development of entrepreneurial skills in the field of innovation and start-ups. In the latter field, they will develop competences in entrepreneurship, business planning and business venturing.

These objectives are achieved through a study plan that provides a basic grounding in economics and business that includes the typical analytical methods and approaches of managerial practices, integrated by legal, professional and statistical competencies. Subsequently students will learn the specific principles and strategies of management: strategic management and marketing, business finance, accounting and control, management of innovation and the development of entrepreneurial skills.

A key feature of this advanced degree programme is its focus on the interdisciplinary nature of problems and the integration of economic and business knowledge with more purely economic, mathematical, statistical and legal fields. The teaching methods focus on an active and participatory approach, mixing traditional classroom teaching witht he discussion of business case studies, exercises also using computer based tools, to simulate business decision making processes, and the testimonial of business managers and operators.

The two-year study plan covers the study and integration of the above subjects with particular attention to the establishment, development and internationalisation of businesses, also through the discussion of business case studies, the drafting of business plans, and lectures by managers and entrepreneurs.Students have the option to perform an internship at a business or institution with a view to future professional activities. The internship is one of theelective learning activities available to students.
