Washington State Universitys online Master of Arts in Criminal Justice program emphasizes theoretically based applied research for criminal justice professionals, those seeking to enter the field, and students interested in learning about criminal justice policy, institutions, and how society addresses crime and public safety.

Youll learn the nature and causes of crime, the administration and processes related to police, courts and corrections agencies. You will also learn how to design and conduct evaluative research, apply for grants, and prepare and present research reports for actual criminal justice agencies.

After earning your degree you will be prepared to critically analyze criminal justice policies, evaluate reforms, apply for grants, and take your career to the next level.

The online program
WSUs online criminal justice masters courses are taught by the same award-winning criminal justice faculty who teach on the physical campus. These faculty members lend their expertise to a broad range of government agencies and nongovernmental groups. Their practical experience enriches their courses and prepares graduates for workplace success.

When you graduate, your WSU diploma will be respected both nationally and internationally. Youll also become part of the Cougar Nation, giving you access to a worldwide network of alumni, many of whom hold top posts in criminal justice agencies.
Besides receiving an exceptional education, students enrolled in the Global Campus can also participate in activities and events similar to those offered on a physical WSU campus through the Global Connections program. These include cultural events, online career fairs, and webinars showcasing the knowledge of our faculty.

The program requires 27 graded credits, as well as 4 directed study credits related to the development and defense of the writing portfolio.
