The MSc Medical Ultrasound is for radiographers, doctors, midwives and other health professionals wishing to practice clinical ultrasound as part of their professional role. The programme aims to provide a knowledge base in diagnostic medical ultrasound, enabling integration of underlying theoretical concepts with ultrasound professional practice-based skills. Students may exit the programme with the 60 credit PG Cert in O&G Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound or GMU Ultrasound or they may exit with the 120 credit PG Dip Medical Ultrasound which will require successful completion of two clinical modules (from O&G, Vascular, GMU or Negotiated topic) . The PG Cert Specialist Practice allows students to put together a personalised, proficiency based learning programme. This may be suitable for an experienced sonographer extending proficiency in a specialist area (e.g. Musculo-skeletal ultrasound, breast ultrasound, paediatric ultrasound, emergency ultrasound). Alternatively this may be suitable for a clinician who wishes to use ultrasound in their practice.
