The Master Programme in Information Systems is a Master's level, two-year programme with a major in Information Systems, offering students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge base within the Information Systems Studies profile and to develop the skills needed to analyse and design information system architectures across organisational and technical system boundaries. The programme prepares students for advanced work positions in organisations in need of solving complex information system development problems. It also provides a good basis for research. The programme welkomes international students. All instructions and communication will be in English.

Employment Market
The program prepares the students for advanced work positions in the companies in need for solving complex information system development problems in organizational contexts. It helps the students to be able to apply skills to analyze and design enterprise system architectures across organizational and technical system boundaries.

Degree
The programme leads to a Master Degree of 120 ECTS credits in information systems. To be awarded a Master degree the student is expected to complete an independent project of at least 30 ECTS credits in the major field of study.

Further Studies
The programme provides a good basis for further advanced studies and research. The Master degree also qualifies the student for further studies within PhD program in the major field of study.

The programme includes advanced studies in Information Systems, and emphasises a combination of theoretical reflexivity, problem solving and design work. The overall structure of the program can be described as follows: Semester 1 - mandatory coursework of 15 ECTS credits in the field of Information Systems and a mandatory joint faculty course, Advanced Professional Skills of 15 ECTS credits. Semester 2 - mandatory coursework of 30 ECTS credits in the field of Information Systems. Semester 3 - elective coursework of 30 ECTS credits. Semester 4 - degree project of 30 ECTS credits in the field of Information Systems.

Form of Instruction
This is full-time study. Detailed learning outcomes are specified in the study plan of each course.

Throughout the program instruction can take the form of lectures, exercises, case studies, seminars, project work, and oral and written presentations. Students are expected to participate actively in class and study extensively on their own.

Examination
Examination usually takes place at the end of each course, module or unit. The fulfillment of learning outcomes is specified in the study plans for the compulsory course.

Elective course: Students are free to choose among certain alternative courses, often depending on their choice of specialisation.

Admission to the programme requires Upper Secondary English course B or equivalent, and a Bachelor degree of 180 ECTS credits including at least 90 ECTS credits in Information Systems or Computer Science.Language requirementsYou must have documented your knowledge of English through the TOEFL test (paper-based test: 575 / computer-based test: 213 / Internet-based test: 90) or IELTS (required score 6.5 - no band lower than 5.5) or equivalent.
