Medicine, profile Molecular Medicine

You want to become a medical doctor. You are fascinated by the molecular mechanisms that go wrong during disease, and want to understand these. You may want to become a doctor who contributes to new treatments that have originated from your own research. Just like all students in the Bachelor program of Medicine, Molecular Medicine students learn all the medical knowledge that it takes to become a good doctor. In addition, Molecular Medicine students learn how science works, and how scientific discoveries make their way to patients. Every three weeks you work on a different assignment. For example, you learn to isolate DNA, and to detect a mutation in a patient. You use your imagination to create a new therapy for metabolic disorders. You learn to explain complex molecular information to children. You write research proposals, and you learn to read and write scientific publications. This is an international Program, where around 30% of the students originates from outside of the Netherlands. We teach in English. Your English should be sufficient to communicate, but does not need to be perfect. If you feel attracted to this Program, we hope that you join Molecular Medicine.

2. vooropleiding (ISPAC: vereiste vooropleiding) For international students to be eligible to the program you must have attained the necessary qualifications for admittance into a Bachelor's in Medicine program in your own country; your secondary education must be comparable to Dutch VWO diploma and include qualifications in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics + English.
