Economists are indispensable to every government, every large corporation and every university around the world - even more so in today's volatile global context. Why do consumers buy a specific brand or product? How are prices set? How can we deal with unemployment? Why do free-market economies promote innovation better than planned economies? What causes variations in income between different ethnic groups? These are some of the questions that occupy economists. In this programme you focus on Economics and Business Economics: * Economics is all about the broader problems that concern governments, national and even international economies; for example, how do changes in legislation affect public interests like welfare and unemployment? * Business Economics analyses problems within companies and explores the possible solutions; you learn how to apply economic insights to manage businesses more effectively. Within this programme you can choose 4 specialisations: 1) Economics 2) Economics and Management of Information 3) International Business Economics 4) Emerging Markets Additionally, you are required to study or do an internship abroad, depending on your specialisation.
