Living standards in developing countries can only be improved once equality has been established between men and women. By specialising in Rural Development, Social Inclusion, Gender and Youth, you will acquire the capacity to reduce gender inequality and improve the social and economic conditions for everyone. Agriculture is the main source of income in many third-world countries. Although development organisations are aware that gender equality is vital for rural development, their structure, cultures and work processes are often not suitable for work on gender mainstreaming and social inclusion. Neither do many of their staff members have the competences to properly address the different needs of men and women. This Master's programme strives to tackle the problem head on by developing the specific competences needed to improve gender equality and social equity through both academic knowledge and professional skills.
