In the Master's track Arts, Culture and Media: Mapping the Arts in Society, students examine the role of the arts in society. In particular, students gain insight into arts worlds and their organization. The programme combines study of the aesthetic dimensions of music, theatre, and film. It teaches students how to uncover the societal impact and the value of arts education for contemporary culture. Further, students learn to analyse and interpret artistic expressions with an enhanced view of how arts phenomena convey, negotiate, or hasten cultural change. Additionally, the programme explores how the arts relate to economic, social, and technical developments in an increasingly mediated world. Digitalization and globalization remain import concepts for this study. As a student of this track you choose to specialize in one of four specializations: * Arts, Politics and Management * Arts Cognition and Education * Film Studies * Music Studies * Theatre and Performing Arts Studies Within this Master's track you can choose to structure combinations of courses relating to two of these specializations (such as Music Studies and Arts Politics and Education).
