Communication Studies

The Master’s in Communication Studies gives you the theoretical grounding and practical know-how to tackle today’s communication challenges. It focuses on the themes that matter most to communication professionals, with specializations in Corporate Communication, Marketing Communication, Media & Communication, and Technical Communication. The programme has close ties with the university’s Communication Science research programme, with a special focus on the organizational context and the relationship between communication and technology (high-tech, human touch), all with a strong international flavour. The programme is academically demanding and highly relevant. Its cross-disciplinary perspective approaches key subjects from various angles, with an inspiring focus on organizations, new technology and design. You will graduate from the programme as a highly trained communication professional with the insight and creativity to handle all kinds of communication issues. You will be ideally suited to a job as advisor, press officer, consultant or online marketer.

Admission requirements

Bachelor's degree in social sciences, incl. domain-specific knowledge and proficiency in social sciences research techniques and methodology.

Other requirements

1. vooropleiding (ISPAC: vereiste vooropleiding) Bachelorgraad in Sociale Wetenschappen, inclusief domein-specifieke kennis en vaardigheid in sociaal-wetenschappelijke onderzoekstechnieken en methodologie.
2. vooropleiding (ISPAC: vereiste vooropleiding) Bachelor's degree in social sciences, incl. domain-specific knowledge and proficiency in social sciences research techniques and methodology.
3. minimum kennis (ISPAC: overige vereisten) Vaardigheid in wiskunde (wiskunde A1, 2 of B1 fase II) en beheersing van de Engelse taal op pre-universitair niveau. Wees ervan bewust dat je waarschijnlijk geadviseerd wordt door de toelatingscommissie eerst een pre-master programma van 1 semester te volgen.
4. minimum kennis (ISPAC: overige vereisten) Proficiency in mathematics (Mathematics A1, 2 or B1 Phase II) and English-language at pre-university level. Please be aware that it is most probable the admission committee advices to follow a pre-master trajectory of one semester.
