Discover the very heart of mathematics. Whether you want to immerse yourself in pure mathematics or want to discover its application in other disciplines, the Master's programme in Mathematics at Radboud University offers you several possibilities. Our Mathematics programme is known and respected for its quality and theoretical approach to mathematics with applications to selected fields. Radboud University offers several specialisations in Mathematics. The specialisation you choose could have everything to do with what inspires you to do maths whether that's pure mathematics, taming randomness, or its applications to phyics and computer science. A completed Bachelor's degree

The admission requirements depend on the specialisation you wish to do in the Master's programme in Mathematics. In general, a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related area from a university that is the equivalent to a Dutch university diploma (this does not include a Bachelor’s from a university of applied science, in Dutch hbo; in German Fachhochschule) could give you admission to all the Mathematics specialisations. If you have the equivalent of a Dutch Bachelor's degree in Computing Science, it could give you admission to Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science. Please see the admission requirements of each specialisation for further details.

A proficiency in English

In order to take part in this programme, you need to have fluency in both written and spoken English. Non-native speakers of English* without a Dutch Bachelor's degree or VWO diploma need one of the following:

  • A TOEFL score of >575 (paper based) or >90 (internet based)
  • An IELTS score of >6.5
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with a mark of C or higher

* Applicants are considered to be a native speaker of English if they are from Australia, Canada (with exception of Quebec), Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, USA or South Africa.
