Med Clinical Education is a three year part-time programme for healthcare professionals engaged in clinical teaching and learning as part of their current role, and who already hold the PGCert in Clinical Education.

We designed our programme to appeal to pharmacists, nurses, midwifes, doctors, dentists, radiographers and any other allied healthcare professionals involved in teaching or training other staff.

As a part-time course, the programme is particularly suitable for any professional that wishes to pursue a postgraduate qualification around full-time or part-time work. Again, the programme also offers the opportunity for you to research a specific area of interest in clinical teaching and learning.

According to our philosophy of inter-professional education, you will work with other healthcare professionals to learn how to develop an environment that facilitates learning across and within the multi-professional clinical field.

MEd Clinical Education will give you a deeper understanding of the design, delivery, assessment and evaluation of learning and teaching in clinical settings and higher education.

The programme will also enable you to develop and apply your expertise as a teacher or trainer in clinical settings, and help you cascade your learning to others.

The course draws on expertise from the Faculty of Health, the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Deanery, the School of Medicine, the School of Healthcare Studies, the School of Dentistry, and practitioners from Hospital and Primary Care Trusts.

Med Clinical Education has approval from the nursing and midwifery council (NMC) so that nurses and midwives can receive a recordable qualification with the NMC.
