Master studies in this area offer a deeper understanding of traditional flow problems and state-of-the-art skills in defining flow fields, velocities, discharges, flow pressures and depths, etc. In addition, the master program includes the study of transport processes, such as the transport of pollutants, heat, suspended solids, etc., in ground and surface waters. Besides a theoretical background, the master program also offers practical experience in using contemporary measuring techniques and mathematical models in the area of hydraulic, water resources and environmental engineering. Thus, master studies within the Hydraulic, Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Program bring the undergraduate student´s knowledge to a higher level, and also provide a transition to the PhD studies program.

The Hydraulic, Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Program offers the following courses during the one year of master studies:
Academic - general education courses:
Elective: English Language, German Language
Theoretical - methodological courses:
Core: Selected Topics in Fluid Mechanics
Scientific - professional courses:
Core: Measurements in Hydraulics and Water Resources
Elective: Groundwater Flow and Transport Processes, Open-Channel Flow and Transport Processes
Professional - applied courses:
Elective: River Hydraulics and Morphology - 1D models, Geographic Information Systems
The core course Selected Topics in Fluid Mechanics provides a theoretical background in flow and transport processes. The core course Measurements in Hydraulics and Water Resources provides a theoretical basis and practical experience in the laboratory and field measurements of flow and transport variables. The elective courses Groundwater Flow and Transport Processes and Open-Channel Flow and Transport Processes provide theoretical background and practical experience in using mathematical models for ground- and surface- water flow and transport simulations. The elective course River Hydraulics and Morphology - 1D Models, deals with flow, sediment transport and morphological changes in rivers. The Master´s program may be completed with a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) course and two general education courses: English and German Language.

* B.Sc. degree or its equivalent.
