The Bachelor's programme International Business Administration, Focus on E-Business is a management programme specialising in academic and practice-related e-business topics such as e-commerce, mobile marketing, social media, cloud computing, and entrepreneurship. Teaching content conveys theoretical and job-oriented practical knowledge as well as social competencies in order to get your career off to a holistic, sustainable, and responsible start.

As a digital native, you are likely an avid user of social media, smart items, apps, and web-based tools and services. During our six- to seven-semester Bachelor's programme, you learn to use your digital skills in a professional setting by acquiring basic management knowledge in combination with specific, practice-oriented training in the field of e-business.

You will learn about the connection between e-business, entrepreneurship, and the fast-growing number of international start-up companies in Berlin by attending our "E-Business & Entrepreneurship" module. In this module, you will have the opportunity to do business planning, undertake model generation tasks, and acquire advanced digital skills. Then you will secure the future success of the outlined business by creating demands and fostering sales via an integrated "Brand and Communication Management" approach.

The e-business programme provides you with relevant management skills so you can develop efficient business solutions for challenges in the fields of IT management, e-commerce, and online marketing. It also enables you to start a business of your own, following your personal business plan. You will enhance your social, intercultural, and personal competences through well-structured soft skills training. Company projects, practical experience, the development of business plans, and the Bachelor's thesis complete your professional profile.

Educational organisation

The three-year study programme starts with input from the major modules in the first academic year. Basics in business administration and economics are conveyed and specific e-business knowledge is introduced, e.g. through a coding workshop. The first year also includes lectures on statistical methods and other subjects.

In the second academic year, you will take a more in-depth look into the key areas of business administration such as accounting, corporate finance, and law. E-business cases and plans are created, training students to have an analytical mind for statistical methods. Additional social competences and final foreign language courses complete the personal skills section.

In the third academic year, students complete a two-month internship. Furthermore, management modules such as "Leading and Managing Organisations" and "Service and Quality Management" provide fundamental skills for future managers and entrepreneurs. Sales and Corporate Communications - an Achilles heel for many new businesses - are also part of the third-year curriculum. In the Bachelor's thesis, the newly obtained knowledge will be processed scientifically by analysing a business problem.
