This programme prepares you for a career in sport management. It is taught jointly by the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences and the Business School.

Sport provision is a major industry in most countries, and sport resources are in great demand.

Strong links exist with practitioners in the management field, and staff have conducted research for a range of respected organisations including the Sports Councils, the International Olympic Committee, and the European Commission.

Many projects are undertaken in collaboration with outside organisations. Candidates with work experience are encouraged to apply, as are younger graduates of high academic quality.

Departmental Bursaries and Scholarships

Many departments offer bursaries to eligible categories of students, and scholarships on a competitive basis, some of which cover all tuition fees. Up-to-date information is available from our website at or speak to the department concerned.

Loughborough Sports Scholarships

We understand the pressure of combining university studying with elite level sport.

In addition to the considerable benefits of first class coaching, access to world class facilities, strength and conditioning and sports medicine support, our Sports Scholarships offer financial support as well as access to a sports mentor, a life skills programme, and the opportunity for flexible study. Our Scholarship holders receive between £500 and £3,500 per year.

To be eligible to apply for a Sports Scholarship, you need to have a confirmed place to study at Loughborough, and usually be competing at least at junior international level.
