The MA Translation Studies with Intercultural Communication is a unique degree that brings together the strengths of various fields within the humanities. The combination of perspectives from different disciplines (English, cultural studies, management, translation studies, linguistics, tourism studies) will equip you with the necessary expertise for future employment in a variety of fields where effective communication management is key.

Programme overview
The programme addresses the need for linguistic knowledge and intercultural competence in a global business environment, a need that is becoming more apparent to many international businesses and organisations. Learning from professionals and academics in a supportive environment, you will be entering a unique programme that allows you to customise your translation degree vis-à-vis a specific aspect of intercultural communication, such as business interactions, public discourse, the media, the discourse of consumption or globalisation.

Native English speakers: a UK First or Second class honours degree in another language. Speakers of other languages: an equivalent degree in English, translation or other relevant subject.English language requirementsNon-native speakers of English without a first degree in English will normally be required have 6.5 IELTS or above, with 7.0 or more in writing (or equivalent). English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6.5 IMPORTANT NOTE: Since April 2014 the ETS tests (including TOEFL and TOEIC) are no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa applications to the United Kingdom. The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa. The Centre is a corporate member of the ITI and supports its activities by contributing to courses in continuing professional development. By working together with the ITI and the CIoL, the Centre is keen to promote all branches of translation and interpreting and to work towards establishing and maintaining the highest possible standards.
