The Midwifery Programme at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a professional midwife. Our programme is based on the latest research and evidence-based practice, and is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to provide safe and effective care to women and their families during pregnancy, labour and birth, and the postnatal period.

The programme is divided into three main areas: theoretical studies, clinical practice and research. In the theoretical studies, students will learn about the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, labour and birth, and the postnatal period. They will also learn about the psychological and social aspects of midwifery, as well as the legal and ethical issues related to midwifery practice.
