Modern day society continues to see the benefit of new emerging technologies and has generated the need for highly skilled professional engineers to ensure its continuation. A particularly exciting and challenging branch of engineering is electronics and information technology.

This course provides an in-depth examination of the latest developments in the area of electronics and information technology, with the option of extending your expertise in management and business.

The course is composed of a range of specialist modules from which you can select, based on previous studies, to give you a customised package to support your chosen career development path.

There is a research based project where you can focus on your particular interest in a supported environment. It will also provide you with an opportunity for continuing professional development where you can develop your professional practice and acquire the skills to aid life-long learning.

The modules studied will be determined as a result of discussions with the Course Leader. The mix of modules will be totally dependant upon personal needs in terms of continuing professional development and, where appropriate, meeting the needs of the employer.

This course provides an in depth examination of the latest developments in the area of electronics and information technology, with the option of extending your expertise in management and business subjects.

We designed it for graduates with a first degree in electronics, computer or communications engineering, or related subjects. It is aimed at graduates with four or five years experience, who want to broaden and increase their knowledge in technical areas.

The course is composed from a range of specialist modules from which you can select. It takes advantage of the cutting edge research conducted within the University.

The final project develops your particular interest in a supported environment. We particularly welcome industrially relevant projects looking at a specific problem faced by your company.

Normally at least a second class honours degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or science subject from a UK or recognised overseas institution. The course is intended for practising engineers in a wide range of disciplines and with diverse qualifications. If you hold another qualification, for example and HND, backed up with relevant industrial experience, we will also consider your application. If you are an overseas student, you need an English language score of IELTS 6.0 or more or a TOEFL 213 or more.
