This innovative programme is intended specifically for graduates who have an administration role within health and social care or aspire to such a role. This programme has a multi-professional approach which will enable students to develop the knowledge and skills required to continue at a more advanced level and enhance their career development.

The MSc Health Administration programme is designed to prepare students to work effectively within the complex and rapidly evolving environments of health and social care. Through the programme, students will be provided with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills set base within a broad international context. Learning, teaching and assessment methods focus on providing students with engaging and contemporary materials which link practice and theory and challenge students to take a critical perspective on both.

While the assessments methods used with the programme are varied, they all have direct relevance to the world of work.

Through the programme, students will be provided with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills set base within a broad international context. The programme aims to enable students to be innovative, provide leadership and prepare them as professional health care managers. Critical appraisal of culturally relevant health and social policy is used to facilitate students achieve advanced levels of practice and influence decision making at local and strategic levels.

What's involved
The course is studied full-time over one year and is split up into three trimesters. Alternatively it can be studied by individualised part-time study with attendance. You can choose to start this course in September. You'll learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and through independent study. There may also be some opportunities to study abroad.

The entry requirement for this course is a UK Honours degree at 2:2 or above or equivalent. We look for applicants to have a background in health, health sciences or management in order to be eligible for the programme.We may also consider lesser qualifications if you have sufficient relevant work experience within the industry. If English is not your first language, it is usually required that you sit an English language test in order to gain entry onto our postgraduate programmes. This course requires a higher IELTS 6.0 with no individual component score of less than 5.5 or equivalent.All of our entry requirements are published on our course pages. If you're from outside the UK we also publish information about general entry requirements using the qualifications from your country. If your first language is not English you will usually have to take an English language test, unless you studied your undergraduate degree in a country where English is the official language. Otherwise, we ask for evidence that you have the correct level of English language competency. Please note your English Language test must normally have been taken within 2 years of you starting studies with us. The English language tests and scores we accept are: * IELTS 6.0 overall with no element below 5.5 * TOEFL IBT 80 or above with at least 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing * Pearsons Test of Academic English 56 or above with at least a score of 51 in the listening, reading, writing and speaking components * Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) at grade C or above English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6 TOEFL iBT® test: 80 IMPORTANT NOTE: Since April 2014 the ETS tests (including TOEFL and TOEIC) are no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa applications to the United Kingdom. The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa.
