The Faculty of Health and Social Care offers a range of postgraduate programmes desinged to meet the professional and personal developmental needs of health and social care staff.

Whether you enrol for a single module as part of our Professional Development Qualification Scheme (PDQS), a Postgraduate Certificate, a Postgraduate Diploma or a full Masters degree, our aim is to provide a learning experience that is stimulating, challenging and, above all, relevant to your professional needs in the modern workplace.

The central aim of the faculty's Masters provision is to prepare professionals to deliver safe and compassionate care underpinned by the latest research and evidence.

We currently offer the following awards at Masters Level:

* MSc Health Studies
* MSc Leadership in Health and Social Care
* MSc Advanced Practice
* MSc Advanced Neonatal Practice
* Post Graduate Certificate in Telehealth or Telecare
* Post Graduate Certificate - Educator in Practice
* Post Graduate Certificate - Practice Teacher
* Community Nursing - Community Nursing leading to NMC approved specialist practitioner qualification

Or, with the support of our academic team, devise a tailor-made award relevant to your own particular role (For example, Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Mental Health).

Study can be either full time or part time, with most modules having e-learning options for those who prefer to study off campus at a time and place convenient to them

A combination of generic and specialist modules can be studied to develop practitioners whose academic and practice skills are at Masters level and who are able to meet professional demands. Flexible approaches to stucy exist, with many of our modules being available in e learning or blended learning, in addition to the traditional classroom based format.

The course comprises of three core modules and four optional modules depending upon the specialist focus of your study.

Attendance requirements
Attendance will be dependent upon the precise programme studied. We offer some provision via e-learning, maximum attendance for any of our part time provision is 1/2 day per week.

Entry is open to anyone working in a health or social care environment.Normally applicants should possess a 2:2 classification from a first degree OR other equivalent professional qualifications that may be considered as Accredited Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).Evidence of recent academic study at level six normally in the last five years and potential to achieve level seven study.

For students employed by an Acute Hospital Trust or Primary Care Trust within the Learning and Education Training Board (LETB), there is no direct charge. All students outside this catchment area should seek funding from their employer or self fund.
