Students currently enrolled in the programme have internships at the European Commission and in various organisations involved in consultation efforts and lobbying activities in Brussels.

In addition to being part of a dynamic and international student group, you will be taught by teachers who are not only active researchers in their own fields of expertise but also highly-trained educators who utilise modern teaching strategies and assessment techniques, many of which have experience of working with European integration issues as practitioners.

Knowledge and skills acquired in the programme:

* A thorough understanding of the political processes of the EU
* A thorough understanding of EU policy in various areas, including external trade and foreign and security policy
* Advanced analytical and methodological skills

Career Prospects:The Master´s programme in European Affairs prepares you for a professional career as an administrator, analyst or decision-maker in the public or private sector, at the local, regional, national or international level. Over the years, hundreds of students who have participated in the European Affairs programme has succeeded in finding employment at the European civil service or in other organisations requiring EU-specific knowledge. The programme also prepares you for doctoral studies and a continued academic career.All students are required to submit a Statement of Intent with their application, failure to do so will lead to a lower ranking. Please note that if you have not majored in Political Science (at BA/BSc level) we kindly ask you to also submit your Bachelor thesis. Unfortunately students with majors in History and Law are not considered to fulfill the eligibility requirements.

Programme Structure: * Semester 1: European governance (15 credits), EU Law (15 credits)
* Semester 2: European negotiations (7,5 credits), European Integration and Global Political Economy (7,5 credits), Methodology course (15 credits)
* Semester 3: Europe in International Politics (15 credits), Internship/Elective course (15 credits)
* Semester 4: Master´s thesis in European Affairs (30 credits)

A Bachelor?s degree in Political Science or equivalent. To be eligible for the course students must also have a minimum average grade in their Bachelor?s studies equivalent to 3.0 in cumulated grade point average (CGPA) out of 4, C in the ECTS grading scale, and B in the American grading scale. For students with Swedish undergraduate studies the minimum requirement is G. English 6/English Course B. English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6.5 TOEFL paper-based test score : 575 TOEFL iBT® test: 90

Lund University Global Scholarship programmeThe Lund University Global Scholarship programme is targeted at top academic students from countries outside the EU/EEA (and Switzerland). You apply for a Lund University Global Scholarship after you have applied for the programme/or free-standing course you wish to study at Lund University.

Country-specific scholarshipLund University has been selected by the Brazilian Government to participate in the scholarship programme Ciência sem Fronteiras - Science without Borders. This scholarship programme is open to students from Brazil.

US Student FinanceLund University is a participating institution in the US Government Federal William D. Ford Direct Loan Program for undergraduate, Masters and doctoral programmes. This includes the Stafford Loans and the Graduate Plus Loans. Please note that this loan programme is only available to US citizens or eligible non-citizens.

If you are applying for studies at Lund University and you plan to fund your studies with the help of funds from the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program, it is highly recommended that you start the process of applying for student finance as soon as possible. UK student financeProfessional and Career Development Loans are commercial bank loans that can be used to help pay for work-related learning. You can borrow between £300 and £10,000 to help support the cost of up to two years of learning (or three years if it includes one years relevant unpaid practical work). The Government will pay the interest on the loan while you are learning and for one month afterwards. You will then need to start repaying the loan as you would any other commercial loans product. The loan can be used to pay course fees or other costs such as travel and living expenses. You can also use the loan to supplement other forms of support such as grants or bursaries.

As the Professional and Career Development Loan is a commercial loan product, you should make sure you have investigated all the funding options that may be open to you to ensure you take an informed decision about whether the Loan is right for you.
