Computer animation is probably the most successful application of digital technology in the creative arts. It complements the work of traditional animators by providing an exciting, flexible medium for undertaking more ambitious and imaginative animated films. It has revolutionised the world of film special effects and has created a totally new leisure activity - computer games, which at a global level is a billion-dollar industry. Computer animation is seen in television productions, films, animated feature films, computer games, training videos, scientific visualisation, flight simulation, virtual environments, the Internet, and interactive media applications. All of these sectors offer exciting and rewarding career prospects, which can be accessed by anyone with the appropriate skills.

We encourage the students to build a critical framework to work creatively within, so they may take those skills they have gained into the world of computer animation. We do this by:

* Creating a professional studio environment
* Teaching computer graphic fundamentals, leading to a better grasp of the subject matter, and ultimately the transferable skills required to pursue your career path
* Teaching best practice and techniques found in industry
* Mentoring and tutorials
* Providing each student with their own workstation
