This program supports the professionalisation of Community Relations practitioners. It will cover corporate social responsibility in the context of community development and expand professional capabilities in the resources industry, within government and other stakeholder groups working with this sector. It will provide knowledge and skills relevant to all aspects of the interactions between resource companies and their associated communities.

To complete the Master of Community Relations
To complete the Master of Community Relations, a student must complete a requisite number of courses chosen from the course list and according to the Rules for the program.

Why study Resources Sector?
This field provides students with a thorough understanding of community aspects in the resource sector. It introduces students to techniques that can be used by community relations workers in this sector including understanding communities, relating to the community, understanding change in communities, and community development roles and interventions. With this knowledge practitioners will be able to design & implement community awareness programs through developing effective strategies for community engagement.

An approved degree and have relevant work experience in the mining industry involving exposure to community aspects; or successful completion of the GDipComRel (Resources Sector).International students, studying on a student visa, may not undertake the program on campus at UQ on a full time basis; they may only study from their home countries and will not be eligible for an Australian student visa.English ProficiencyIELTS overall 6.5; writing 6, reading 6, speaking 6, and listening 6 (or comparable English language proficiency as per University policy) English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6.5
