European Business and Finance

European Business and Finance is a Joint Master Degree provided by the three leading Universities: Nottingham Trent University (UK), Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic) and University of Economics in Katowice (Poland).

This programme is targeting mostly students who obtained their Bachelor degree in Business, Finance and Management disciplines at their home institutions which is recognized by the UE Katowice.

The overall aim is to develop managers originating predominantly from Central and Eastern Europe, capable of working in a pan-European cross-cultural business environment. The programme reflects a thorough analysis of the changing requirements for joint international business management programmes from student and international employer perspective.

 1 YEAR

Core

• Cross-cultural Issues in European Human Resource Management (90 hours/8ECTS)
• International Marketing (45 hours/4ECTS)
• Financial Risk Management (30 hours/4ECTS)
• International Business Research Methods (75 hours/4ECTS)
• Understanding Global & European Business Environment (45 hours/4ECTS)
• Strategic Management (30 hours/3ECTS)

Electives for Katowice & Brno:

• International Finance (45 hours/3ECTS)
• International Business Law (30 hours/3ECTS)

2 YEAR

Core

• Contemporary Issues in European Strategic Management (60 hours/15ECTS)
• Corporate Policy & Investment Strategy (45 hours/10ECTS)
• Seminar (10 hours / 15 ECTS)
• Finance & Accounting for Business Strategy (45 hours/10ECTS)
• Work placement (min. 3 months)
• International Human Resources & Information Management (45 hours/10ECTS)

Entry requirements:

• nationals of the Member States of the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, and members of their families
• holders of a valid Polish Charter (Karta Polaka)
• holders of a document (other than a visa) permitting them to stay in Poland
• other foreigners

If you have a diploma of higher education (at least a Bachelor’s degree) that was not issued in Poland, you can:

• enter the admission procedure applicable to Polish nationals; upon successful admission you will have the right to study according to the same rules that apply to Polish students (subject to the same fees) but you will not be entitled to a maintenance grant, special grant for disabled persons and assistance grants. You will, however, have the right to apply for the Rector’s grant for outstanding students

OR

• apply for admission on the basis of the Rector’s decision (without undergoing the admission procedure) and study subject to the fees that apply to foreigners, with no right to apply for any University grants. Check the entry requirements applicable to foreigners
