Requirements for the Jazz Music Programme at Niccolo Piccinni Conservatory

Are you interested in studying jazz music at the Niccolo Piccinni Conservatory? Our jazz music programme is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become successful jazz musicians. In order to be accepted into the programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum grade of C in music theory and/or music history
  • A minimum grade of B in a jazz-related instrument (e.g. piano, guitar, bass, drums, etc.)
  • A minimum grade of B in a jazz-related ensemble (e.g. big band, small group, etc.)
  • A minimum grade of B in a jazz-related improvisation class
  • A minimum grade of B in a jazz-related composition class
  • A minimum grade of B in a jazz-related arranging class
  • A minimum grade of B in a jazz-related history class
  • A minimum grade of B in a jazz-related literature class
  • A minimum grade of B in a jazz-related technology class
  • A minimum grade of B in a jazz-related pedagogy class
