Photography

This app was made to make distinctive and innovative professional photographers ready to carry on leading roles in the photographic and creative industries. The training program is delivered over three years of full time study in a small supportive environment which promotes independent thinking, creative clinic, contemporary technique and career outcomes. Students are invited to research an innovative and risk taking approach into the possibilities of photographic imagery, producing conceptual portfolios underpinned by significance and appropriate technique. Students are needed to think about the context and communicative effectiveness of these work and apply their learning in both studio and on location in practical and interpretive methods. Added flexibility is offered by allowing students to decide on a major area in final year out of commercial photography, art photography or photo journalism. A real world job, overseas photography festivals, a formidable mentor program and integral business studies in final year provide a powerful industry and career focus.

Peak industry bodies the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) the Advertising, Commercial and Magazine Photographers ACMP. Candidates are eligible to apply for membership of AIPP, ACMP, MEAA Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance, NAVA National Association of Visual Arts.
