Renewable Energy is major area of economic growth and policy relevance in the UK and internationally, and this programme, designed in cooperation with the industry, provides the specific skills and knowledge to work in the renewables sector.

There is a strong industrial component, including site visits, guest speakers from industry and the use of ‘real-world’ examples.

The programme commences in September and is also available for part-time study.

This qualification is has been designed in close consultation with industry to be suitable for a career in renewable energy project management.

Industrial placements can be arranged for dissertation research; in some instances, bursaries are available from companies. Where relevant, these would be awarded by competition.

We were acknowledged as a leading department nationally in the two most recent Research Assessment Exercises. The department also regularly achieves very high ratings in the National Student Survey for satisfaction with teaching quality.

The department contains a wide range of well-equipped teaching and research facilities, including lecture theatres, seminar rooms, laboratories, networked computer areas and a newly refurbished GIS laboratory.

A good Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, or appropriate experience in a professional environment. A minimum of GCSE Grade C Maths and/or Physics or equivalent required.International students (language requirements) If your first language is not English, you will be required to provide acceptable evidence of your English language proficiency. English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6 IMPORTANT NOTE: Since April 2014 the ETS tests (including TOEFL and TOEIC) are no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa applications to the United Kingdom. The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa.
