Would you like to take on responsibility and make a career in line with your personal values? Then Responsible Business is just the right focus for your International Business studies.

In the Responsible Business area, you will take a look at current and future business developments: How can we trade sensibly in times of globalization and climate change? How can we think profit- and growth-oriented and still act in a socially fair and ecologically sustainable way? These are not just questions that young people are asking themselves. Political institutions and international corporations face enormous challenges. They need people who can take responsibility because they know how. And it is precisely this "how" that we give you. Together we develop strategies for a better world. International guest lecturers as well as partner companies from the region help us with this.

The specialist knowledge you gain will enable you to understand all the important players on the international business scene and to mediate between them skillfully. Your expertise will be as much in demand in the energy sector as it will be in culture, marketing or banking.

Educational organisation

Students are given a comprehensive overview of the different types of sustainability management in an international context and acquire the ability to analyse, design, plan, manage, evaluate, and critically assess services in this field. This is achieved by combining qualifications specific to this topic with general management skills and foreign languages.

The sustainability modules include the following: Global Economy, Sustainable Development, Area Studies, Circular Economy and Life-cycle Management, Sustainable Entrepreneurship & Social Innovation, International Finance & Sustainability, Current Issues in Sustainability Management, Culture, Consumption & Sustainability.

Study abroad unit(s)

Optional (recommended):
In the fifth semester, the future international sustainability managers go abroad for one semester, in order to test and apply the knowledge they have acquired in a foreign culture. This experience makes them even more appealing to employers.

The university has established cooperation agreements with partner universities so that all the modules can be completed at a university abroad without any loss of time. During the semester abroad, students have the opportunity to discover another country, benefit from cross-cultural exchanges, and broaden their horizons. Thus, they greatly increase their chances of successfully finding a job after graduation.

Internships

At the end of your Bachelor's studies, you will have to pass a practical phase. During these three to six months, you will prove your knowledge and enthusiasm under real circumstances - and you might develop your Bachelor's thesis. We will help you to find your internship with great contacts in the business world.
