3-month residential research scholarships in Venice, ItalyThe Vittore Branca International Center for the Study of Italian Culture provides three short-term residential scholarships for young postdoctoral scholars interested in study in Venice. The Center invites researchers working in one of the following areas: art history, literature, music, drama, early printed books, Venetian history and comparative cultures and spiritualities. The total amount of the scholarship is 6,250 euros, it will be divided into two parts: one half of the scholarship will cover the accommodation fee for three months in the Vittore Branca Center Residence on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice, and the other half will cover general expenses.

The researchers are expected to work on the research project in Venice for three months between May 2017 and May 2018.

Candidates should hold a PhD degree and be younger than 40 years old. The Fondazione Giorgio Cini requires researches to choose the research topic focused on the archives and documents kept in the foundation. The list of available topics can be found on the official website of the foundation.

The application should include:

  1. Paper application form;
  2. Degree certificate(s) with marks for individual exams;
  3. Doctorate thesis and copies of any other relevant academic works – saved on CD ROM, DVD or USB pen;
  4. Resume (CV);
  5. Research topic and a description (around 1,500 words) of the study program that the candidate will follow;
  6. Three reference letters from professors and scholars who supervise or have supervised the candidate.

The applications should be received before 10 March 2017.

Successful candidates will be invited for an interview with members of the foundation.
