Birkbeck Postgraduate Research Scholarships

Birkbeck School of Arts will provide 12 Birkbeck Postgraduate Research Scholarships beginning in 2018/19 academic year. This Scholarship would be interesting for doctoral students wishing to do researches in one of School of Arts discipline, such as Arts and Humanities, Cultural Studies, Journalism, English and Humanities, Japanese, History of Art, Architecture, Museum Cultures and Photography and other disciplines (you can find the full list of disciplines on the official website). The duration of programme is up to three years.

The competition for these scholarships will be decided on the basis of academic merit. Your ability to link your researches with the work of one of active research centres will also be an advantage.

The Birkbeck Postgraduate Research Scholarship awards will consist of a full fee waiver for M.Phil or PhD degrees (currently £4,195), and also a stipend set at Research Council rates (currently £16,553 per year).

All programme applicants wishing to get the Scholarship will be interviewed personally in order to discuss their ideas.

After applying for an M.Phil or PhD place in Birkbeck School of Arts, you can qualify for funding. You should complete the funding application form, which can be found on the official website, and then email it to SoAFA@bbk.ac.uk until 15 February 2018.
