“I never thought that the University of Cambridge would accept someone like me, but my curator inspired me to apply. This is the first thing that I am really proud of in my life ”

Every third student dreams of going to Cambridge, but the high requirements for applicants, coupled with not the easiest study, discourage many potential applicants.Briton Jeff Edwards was able not only to fulfill the dream of most students in the world, but also did it at 52 years old.The man entered Hughes Hall College, intended for adults, where he will study English literature.Jeff's story is also unusual because the man was unemployed for most of his life, living on the streets of the city.

Jeff Edwards always loved to read books and even, being unemployed and homeless, he was a frequent visitor to local libraries. At a young age, Jeff had little chance of getting a quality education due to the fact that his family was poor enough to pay for the university, and low grades in school made it impossible to get a scholarship.

Since 2014, Edwards has attended free preparatory courses at the University of Cambridge.Having successfully completed his studies, the man brilliantly passed the entrance exams and became a student at Hughes Hall College.

“Studying at Cambridge was my dream.I still can't get used to the idea that I can study what I like, "- said Edwards.
