Canadian Government Scholarships

The Government of Canada provides 167 scholarships for international and local students seeking a PhD from a Canadian university. The goal of this scholarship is to establish Canada as a world leader in higher education and research. Fellows must have leadership qualities and demonstrate a high level of academic excellence in the social sciences, humanities, engineering, natural sciences, or health care. Program participants will be able to enroll in one of the PhD programs at Canadian universities in the 2018 academic year.

The scholarship is $50,000 per year.

Requirements for candidates

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Apply to one of the Canadian universities participating in the program for one of the PhD programs (applications from candidates who have already received a PhD degree are not accepted)

  2. Be ready to start studying in the summer of 2018 or in the fall semester of 2018;

  3. Have less than 20 months of internship as a graduate student as of May 1, 2017.

How to apply?

To apply for a scholarship, you must register on the website and provide documents confirming your admission to one of the universities in Canada participating in the program, resume, information about previous education (diplomas and transcripts)... Acceptance of applications ends on November 1, 2017.
