Career options for Criminal Law and Criminology graduates

Criminology and Criminal Law graduates usually start a career of lawyer after completing a degree and additional courses.

Besides a career in Law, graduates can find themselves in many area more or less related to criminal justice.   For example, one of the popular career paths for Criminal Law and Criminology graduates is police officer. Most of the skills which are received from a degree in Criminology are extremely useful in Police area. Graduates can also start a career as social and youth workers, or start a career in prison, court or security services.

Those who wish to start research and teaching activity in Criminal Law area, should apply for a Masters and PhD degree after completing Bachelor  degree.

Graduates holding a  Bachelor degree in Criminal Law and Criminology (LLB in Criminal Law and Criminology) can usually start a career in this area after completing some additional courses - legal training. These courses can last from one to two years and after completing these courses you will become a qualified lawyer.

A trainee placement is usually suggested to graduates after the legal training, where graduates can develop their legal skills.

However, in some countries outside Europe you will be able to start your career right after completing a Bachelor degree in Criminal Law.

Graduates can also develop their skills and get work experience by volunteering in various legal institutions during their education period or after it.
