Dance Studies as a sub-discipline of Music Studies is a very popular study program in several universities around the world. Usually Dance Studies is a practical program with some theoretical courses such as History of Dance, Culture, Performing Theory. Some study programs include several types of dances (for example, classic and contemporary ones), and some study programs only include folk dances.
How to apply?
Besides standard entry requirements applicants for Dance Studies programs will need to pass special performance exams. Excellent physical training is often required.

Applicants for Masters programs are normally required to hold a First or Upper Second class honours degree at Bachelors level in a relevant area.
Graduates are welcome to work as independent dance professionals in their home country or abroad. Also they can work for international production companies and dance companies, or become a choreographer, dance teacher or art director.
