Fulbright Scholarship

Applications from Russian students for the Fulbright Scholarship are accepted. This fellowship is offered by the Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy. The purpose of this scholarship is to support and fund master or graduate students seeking an education in the United States, and to strengthen ties between the United States and other countries. The Fulbright Scholarship has been in operation for over sixty years, during which time it has provided the opportunity to study, work and teach in the United States for many international students.

The scholarship covers air travel to and from the United States, tuition fees at a chosen university, and living expenses in the United States.

Almost all master's and PhD programs are available, except for MBA programs.

After completing their studies, students are required to return to their homeland.

The duration of the program for masters is 1 or 2 years, for graduate students - 9 months, during which they can engage in research activities at US universities. Postgraduate students are not awarded a diploma.

Who can apply?

Program participants must meet the following requirements:

  1. have Russian (or CIS) citizenship);

  2. have a bachelor's degree in a related field if applying for a master's program, or a master's degree if applying for a PhD program;

  3. know English: (570 points - paper TOEFL, 230 points - computer TOEFL, 88 points - online TOEFL, or 7.0 points - IELTS);

  4. have no experience of living or working in the United States;

  5. demonstrate an outstanding academic background;

  6. be able to quickly adapt to the realities of another country.
