Postgraduate Scholarships in Finland

The United Nations University in Helsinki offers funding to postgraduate students pursuing research in the economies of developing countries.This program enables students from all over the world to take advantage of the resources of the United Nations University for their research, as well as work in collaboration with university scientists.Postgraduate students will work at the university for four to five months (from February to June or from August to November).

All international graduate students are eligible for the scholarship, but preference will be given to students from developing countries who are in the late stages of their study.

The scholarship covers the cost of tickets to Helsinki and back, medical insurance, in addition, program participants receive 1,600 euros monthly for personal expenses.

Requirements for candidates

Applications are accepted from graduate students studying economics of developing countries.Graduate students working in other areas of social sciences can also apply, however, the activities of the United Nations University are focused mainly on the study of economics.

Proficiency in English is required.

How to apply?

To apply for a scholarship, you must fill out a form on the official website.Graduate students wishing to participate in the program in the fall must apply from March 1 to March 30, and those wishing to participate in the program in the spring - from September 1 to 30.

Applications are accepted every year.

Successful applicants will be informed of admission within the next month.
