Top 10 countries to immigrate for work
HSBC has published a ranking of the best countries for labor migration.
The bank conducted a large YouGov survey, interviewing 27,000 people in 190 countries. Migrants were asked how they live, work and what it is like for them to raise their children where they moved.
HSBC ranked the best countries based on factors such as career, work-life balance, benefits, and other factors. (Wages were also taken into account, but were not a decisive factor.)
10. Bahrain
Average migrant salary: $ 98,622.
65% of expats in Bahrain receive an annual home travel allowance.In the Middle East, 91% of migrants are satisfied with their work contracts, well above the world average of 67%.
9. UK
Average migrant salary: $ 83,227.
For the first time, the UK was in the top ten countries for migrants (editor's note: the survey was conducted before the Brexit vote - everything has changed since then).
8. Hong Kong
Average migrant salary: $ 169,756.
According to HSBC, Hong Kong is a great place for migrants looking to pursue a career, but not for those looking for a better quality of life.68% of respondents said it was a good place to pursue their careers, but 50% said their work-life balance had deteriorated since moving to Hong Kong.
7. Austria
Average salary of a migrant: $ 85.288.
Like Britain, Austria is in the top ten for the first time this year.Austria values work-life balance highly.71% of respondents noted the value of a work culture, with 62% of migrants reporting an improvement in their status in the labor market.
6. Singapore
Average migrant salary: $ 138.641.
Like Hong Kong, Singapore is a great place to advance your career, but not the best for work-life balance.62% of expatriates said they had made progress in their careers, but 30% reported declining living standards.However, 53% of expats working in Singapore said they feel more satisfied with their jobs.
5. Norway
Average salary of a migrant: $ 97,486.
Norway is in the top 10 for the first time this year.It is important to note that 87% of migrant workers in Norway reported a significant improvement in work-life balance.
4. UAE
Average salary of a migrant: $ 112,820.
According to HSBC, 56% of foreigners receive a living allowance in the UAE, and 75% receive health benefits.

Average migrant salary: $ 84.802.
71% of emigrants who go to Sweden to work say the work culture is much better here than in their home country.
