Best Scholarships in Belgium
We have selected some good scholarships that give you the opportunity to study in Belgium for free or with a scholarship. Below you will find information on universities, eligibility requirements and deadlines.
Master Mind Scholarships
The Government of the Belgian region of Flanders offers scholarships of up to 8,000 euros per year to prospective masters.Funding lasts from 1 year until graduation. All universities in the region take part in the program.A total of 30 to 40 candidates will receive the scholarship.
You cannot apply directly - this is done by the host university. Among them are the University of Leuven, University of Antwerp, Ghent University, Hasselt University and others, including art schools. A complete list can be seen here.
To be offered, you must apply to the university and meet its requirements. Choose an educational institution and, first of all, be guided by the deadline set by it: in some applications, applications finish accepting in February. When the university approves your candidacy for the program, a scholarship application is submitted.Minimum requirements:
Excellent knowledge of English.At least 7 points for IELTS, 100 points for TOEFL, C1 points for CAE or similar results for other language exams;
For those entering arts-related programs, the requirements are slightly simpler: the English level must be B2.At least 6.5 points for IELTS, 90 for TOEFL or B2 for CAE.
GPA average from 3 to 4;
Motivation letter for the university and motivation letter for the scholarship;
Two recommendations;
Citizenship does not matter.
This year's scholarship applications ended on April 30, but the deadlines for 2019-2020 are still unknown.The program is annual, so you need to wait for new dates.ButLet's note again: first you need to go to a university, so first focus on the university's deadlines.
Science @ Leuven Scholarships
Scholarship from University of Leuven, which is designed for applicantsFaculty of Science.Funding extends to programs:
Master of Chemistry
Master of Geography
Master of Physics
Master of Statistics
In total, you can get up to 10,000 euros per year, which covers tuition, insurance and daily expenses. Funding is assigned for the second year if the student is doing well.
There are no separate requirements for the scholarship, but you must meet all the requirements indicated on the page of the selected program:
Bachelor's degreemust correspond to the chosen specialty;
Excellent knowledge of English is required.Only IELTS scores with a minimum score of 7 and a TOEFL score of 94 are accepted.
One must demonstrate motivation to study and a desire to become an ambassador for the program.

Ghent University Top-up Grants
Students from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and some other countries can receive grants from Ghent University. Funding includes monthly payments of 654 euros and insurance.The university also makes a discount on tuition: you need to pay 922.30 euros for 60 ECTS credits. However, students from countries that are not part of the EEA pay between 1792.30 and 5524.30 euros for the same number of credits.That is, the discount is about 50% or more.
You cannot apply for a scholarship yourself.First, you need to submit documents for the selected program, and after that the best candidates will be assigned grants.
Applications for training are accepted up to 1March 2019.
