Biophysics
Biophysics is the science of the physical mechanisms underlying the vital activity of living organisms. It is an interdisciplinary subject, which unites main tools and methods of physics, chemistry (and biochemistry), biology (physiology). Biophysicists search for physical regularities in biological objects. The main issues of Biophysics include mathematical modeling, nanobiology, photobiological processes, and the physics of protein and membrane structures.
The main branches of biophysics are bioacoustics, bioelectricity, bioenergetics, biomechanics, medical physics, biooptics, and many others. The list of these disciplines (practically coinciding with the analogous list of disciplines of Physics) demonstrates that all physical processes and phenomena which exist in “outside world” occur in biological objects.
Entry requirements
Those who wish to apply for one of study programs in Biophysics, need to have excellent grades in Physics and Biology, high grades in Maths and Chemistry will also be an advantage. English proficiency is also required.
Study programs in Biophysics
