FiftyThree invests $30 million in educational technology
March 19, 2015. (6:30 p.m.) The developers of Paper (a note-taking and imaging app) have received a $30 million investment to set up work with schools. FiftyThree's big investors are serious about entering the education market. The main idea of the first phase of the takeover is to displace whiteboards, markers and stickers. The alternative will be a special Think Kit service. The app is scheduled to come out in April and unfortunately, details about the functionality of the service are still under wraps.
A little statistic about FiftyThree's existing services: 13 million people have downloaded the Notes and Illustration app Paper. And recently, the app and all of its add-ons were free. The latest innovation was to create a collaborative illustration platform for research and teaching projects.
