Breaking news from Great Britain

Oxford Media Policy Summer Institute International School will be held in London from 4 to 17 August. Over the past 20 years, thousands of scientists, lawyers, and politicians from different countries have received training programs in the UK.

Participants will have a two-week media program in Oxford. They plan to pay special attention to online media. There are still enough vulnerable groups of the population in the world who do not have constant access to the Internet, cannot promptly defend their rights, and talk about problems. Participants will discuss topical issues of online censorship, regulation of content on social networks, as well as the spread of disinformation on the Internet. After the summer school, participants will have a deep understanding of how all these issues affect the laws governing the work of the media.

Applications are accepted until April 20. There are 30 scholarships available. According to the experience of past years, usually, about 400 applications are received.

To participate, you must provide:

- contacts of two people who can give recommendations;

- summary;

- statement of interest, a short description (500-800 words) of research or work on a school topic, or an article on media policy (up to 8000 words).

You can also suggest a research project or an interesting idea that you would like to implement together with participants from other countries.[eleven]
