Wine Tourism Innovation

Erasmus Mundus Program.For 2 years you study at three universities in different countries:

  • Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Spain.Here you will take adaptation courses, marketing, courses on the production of sparkling wines, learn about the regions and wine culture of Spain.

  • Universite de Bordeaux in France.At the university, you will take courses in management, sweet wine and long-aging wine production, and learn about French wine and culture.Separately, students study a course on online promotion, working with a website, SMM.

  • Universidade do Porto in Portugal.The main focus this semester is on wine tourism, communications and event management.There is also a course on fortified wines and wines in Portugal.

Also in each semester you will be asked to learn the languages ​​of the countries.

Basic requirements for applicants:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences such as tourism, management,marketing, business.Or a bachelor's or master's degree in natural sciences, including wine science, agricultural sciences, biotechnology, food technology.Also, candidates with a language education, a diploma in international relations are considered.

  • You must know English at least at the B2 level and prove it with a certificate.Accept results from IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge.

  • Work experience and knowledge of other foreign languages ​​are also taken into account.

Students can receive EMJMD Scholarship , which covers tuition fees, flights, insurance, accommodation.A citizen of any country can receive funding.

Viticulture or Enologyin the United States

Cornell University offers two programs in whichyou can choose between Viticalture or Enology specialization:

  • Enology under the Food Science Program.Students must have experience and knowledge in organic chemistry, microbiology, or biochemistry.This program is more focused on research activities.You will be able to study what affects the taste and quality of the wine.If you want to work directly in the wineries and in the management field, then it is better to choose the second one.

  • Viticulture in the Horticulture area.Here you will learn how to properly grow grapes and make wine, as well as touch upon management issues.The program lasts a year.

To enroll in the Viticulture Specialization, you must:

  • biology, mathematics, physics, botany, chemistry, ecology;

  • Submit TOEFL certificate;

  • Attach three recommendations to the proposal.

You can apply for the Fulbright program, which provides full funding for the student: tuition fees, insurance, flights and a monthly stipend.New applications will start accepting in 2019.

The university also offers scholarships and grants based on financial standing.The exact amount of funding is not indicated, as it is assigned individually.

Viticulture and Enology in Italy

The program at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, trains specialists in the field ofgrowing grapes and making wine.Here you will learn:

  • How innovation and traditional wine culture of Italy are combined;

  • How to develop vineyards;

  • How to mitigate the undesirable effects associated with climate, control pests and diseases that are dangerous to vineyards.

Consider candidates who meet the requirements:

  • Graduated from the bachelor's degree and received at least 180ECTS credits;

  • They know English well.The minimum score for IELTS is 6 points, for TOEFLIBT - 80 points;

  • Know the basics of winemaking and grape growing.Otherwise, you must complete a three-week preparatory course in Viticulture, Enology and Peist Pathology;

  • Your academic and personal achievements are also taken into account when considering an application.

The University offers an annual scholarship in the form of a discount of about 30% on tuition fees.The contribution is 8540 euros, and for students with a scholarship - 5750 euros.The application must be submitted upon admission.
