Chinese startup gets 50 million
50 million dollars was awarded to the Chinese educational search engine Genshuixue. It is an online platform that allows you to search for courses, tutors and educational programs from all over the world. The startup is already estimated to be worth about $250 million. It's been just under half a year since the site launched, but in that modest span of time, more than 70,000 educators are active users of the platform and offer more than 69,000 different classes to millions of students. According to the project's founder, one of the most popular teachers has already made a million from his classes. The online education sector is growing at an incredible rate in China. Genshuixue's direct competitor Qingtajiao has also acquired quite a large investment in recent months.
