Yale University conducts new study
March 31, 2015. (6:00 p.m.) Yale University is partnering with Yogome to launch a two-year study of educational video games for their effectiveness for learning. Games aimed at developing skills in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) disciplines have been released for school-aged children. Prior to the widespread use of the technology, Yale administrators conducted a study to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of this type of learning through games.
The method of research was a simple experiment. Hundreds of children from 5 to 11 years old will play these games, and then researchers will investigate whether learning ability increases in basic subjects. They will also investigate whether students are having more fun than a well-constructed lesson with a knowledgeable teacher.
