How does a student become a desirable catch for an employer in 2015?

With spring approaching and graduation soon many graduates begin to think about the upcoming search for a new or their first job, and undergraduates begin searching for a summer job.And they ask themselves a question: how can they stand out from the crowd and increase their chances of getting a job when the competition on the labor market is so great? Those who are looking for work should consider the following points in 2015.

Internet skills

The phrase «internet skills raquo;, often seen in job descriptions and 2014, is not about to give up. Speaking on behalf of an innovative technology company, we recognize that the key to success in our business is working with talented young people who have strong backgrounds in technology.

;Do you have people say&you&are&talking&about the world&of&new&technology? But what do you mean by that? You grew up in the Internet Age, and you have skills that your potential employer might not have, so make sure you put them on your resume. Did you help promote a school event on social media? Run your own blog? Documented every minute of your vacation on instagram? They all seem so easy that they're not even worth mentioning, but they're actually examples that will show you the kind of computer skills employers need in 2015.

Internships

Internships as a way to get a permanent job are becoming increasingly popular, and therefore you have to compete for them too. There are plenty of great internships that allow you to earn and gain valuable experience at the same time, such as the Degree Apprenticeship programs starting in September 2015. Apprenticeships may not be suitable for everyone, but they can also be a great way to start a successful career. So don't t lazy to explore this issue further.

Actively use social media

We ve recently conducted a large-scale survey among the Millennial generation (young people aged 18−30 worldwide) and found that about 2-thirds of all respondents believe that technology has transformed the job search process. Statistics show that 98 percent of Britons looking for work do so online. The days of looking for great job offers in newspapers are long gone.

Social networks allow employers to see their potential employees in their natural social networking environments in which they spend their free time. More and more employers are looking to social networking sites to make sure their potential employees are confident and ethical online, and it makes sense to get in touch with them first. We sometimes have Twitter Q&A sessions where people who want to work with us can talk to people who are already interning with us.

Make great connections for your job search

Job experience or an internship can certainly improve your chances, but hiring is not limited to writing cover letters and sending out resumes. Lately there have been a lot of companies recruiting promising personnel for various companies in accordance with their areas of expertise. They will continue their work in 2015.

The Digital Youth Academy and National Council for Work Experience are showing a great example of how to recruit young professionals. Last year we hosted the UK's first Internet Technology Job Fair as a platform to reach out to young tech talent. Meeting a potential employee in person gives you a much better idea of them than a resume or CV, so make sure you keep an eye on these events and don't miss out on your first networking opportunity.

Some of the same rules about job hunting are never;irrelevant: gather information, be proactive, gain experience, and try to be visible. But the truth is, reality is changing, and with technology everywhere today, showing your ability to use it from the start is a sure way to impress a potential employer.
