Illegal lending to students

February 19, 2015  (12:00). St. Patrick's College (UK) has lost its license to enroll international students, following an investigation by the Quality Assessment Agency ( QAA).
This news gained publicity after the Public Accounts Committee released a report about £3.84m that was issued as a loan to international students who were not eligible.
This concern about loan funding came about because St. Patrick's College students were only allocated £ 0.96m for the 2013 grant service.

So on Feb. 19, the College lost its licenses, according to the U.K. Government.

In the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the number of students who have received government loans.

A Kavin Kanasagabai College faculty member said that the recruitment of students was for the financial benefit of the head of the university. "I had a student who told me that he was required to walk down the street and ask if they needed money and then offer admission to the university. And people who didn't have jobs, of course, said yes. They used it for their own gain"
says the instructor.
The overall results revealed that £1 billion was spent on students who did not even know which department they were enrolled in.
