I don't know who I want to be: how to learn to hear myself

Many students still don't know what they want to be when they grow up. There has to be a place where you fit in, like a perfect piece of the puzzle. But the more pressure of the system, the harder it is to find your way to yourself. You don't have to go to Bali for enlightenment or guess by coffee grounds, we've already compiled a checklist for everyone who's lost their way.

Speak up

The answers are always in you. According to psychologists, the thought inside the cranium is a «semi-finished product». For it to finally take shape, you need to let it out. Some people are more suited to the technique of morning pages; others understand themselves more easily when they speak out loud. Speak to yourself, to a friend, to your audience after all!

Try going backwards

Think not about an in-demand profession, but about a lifestyle you're passionate about. Are you more suited to diving into a daily maelstrom of cars and skyscrapers or living slowly in the woods and only going to civilization for groceries? Subscribe to the blogs of people living the lifestyle you want. How are they even doing in terms of making money? What have they figured out to do to stay in their rhythm?

Hear yourself in the little things

To hear yourself in big issues like self-actualization, hear yourself in the little things. Some people don't even know what they prefer to eat for breakfast. Examine yourself. Does it matter on the scale of the universe that you like blue more than red and Imagine Dragons more than Linkin Park? No. But that's where your identity starts.

A little later on, you'll find a case where you're good and organic. Absolutely.

You will.
