Agreement on a joint university between Russia and India
March 21, 2015. (14:00) In a February meeting of parliamentarians from Russia and India, a proposal to establish a joint university was made. Russia initiated the proposal.
The group that was sent to the negotiations from Russia was headed by Sergey Naryshkin, chairman of the State Duma, and on the Indian side the head was Sumitr Mahajan, speaker of the lower house of the Indian parliament. As MSU Vice Rector Sergey Shakhray says, three possible educational projects were received from Russia: creating a branch of MSU in India, opening a joint institution of higher education with Delhi University and for those who wish to receive education in Russia it was proposed to open a tsuniversity. Especially since the Russian side is ready to offer an agreement in three areas: medicine, IT technology and philology.
