UK-Mexico agreement signed
March 23, 2015. (19:00) To increase bilateral student mobility, Mexico and Great Britain signed an agreement. It will allow 170,000 students to use their qualifications to study and work in both countries.The agreement was also designed to facilitate the creation of transnational partnerships and initiatives to prepare a platform to create similar agreements between Britain and other Latin American countries.
The agreement will help strengthen both Britain and Mexico in sectors such as energy, the environment and health. According to the British Council - it will activate qualified scientists, technicians and managers in both countries. The project work is expected to be completed by the fall of 2015 and implementation of the plans will begin immediately. Eduardo Barzana, rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico , said the agreement is "vital" to the internationalization of Mexican universities.
