Yale University launches online medicine course

From 2015, Yale University, well-known to all, is announcing the enrollment of master's students in a program that will, in part, allow them to teach online. Already in 2014, online courses were opened for nursing education. Johns Hopkins University, which also trains health care professionals, is also promoting this learning system.

There are currently many stereotypes about online education, and the appearance of such courses from Yale University  undermines several of them at once. First, it's one of the conservative universities, and second, although they teach medical students, most of the time students will be in video conferences. But no one will cancel the internship: every student will be required to complete an internship at a local clinic, which is approved by the university administration.

In fact, in 2007, Yale University became one of the first prestigious universities to put their video lectures on the Internet for free. Perhaps this trend - not free courses, but full-fledged online education - will become a trend in the development of this type of education. As the program directors note, the profitability of the project for the university itself is still questionable, but the convenience of students from other regions is a strong plus. The number of seats for this program will be about 300.
