Essay competition in English

Entries for the Social Behavior and Research Essay Competition will be accepted until March 31, 2020. The best papers will be published in the Cambridge Journal of Economics. There is also a cash prize - the winner will receive € 7,000.

To participate, you need to write an essay in English of up to 10,000 words. According to the terms of the competition, authors can choose the topic and title on their own. The work must be accompanied by a cover letter for the editors of the publication, in which it is required to indicate that the author of the essay wants his article to qualify for the main prize. The Independent Social Research Foundation is hosting the essay competition in partnership with the Cambridge Journal of Economics. Past topics: “What is the place of care in the economy”, “Autonomy & organization”, “Social theory”, “What is the place of digital information technology in the economy”, “Interdisciplinary - the new orthodoxy”.The works of the winners of previous years can be viewed in the section "Previous Competitions".

Essays will be judged on their originality and relevance to the scientific world. The organizers are primarily interested in innovative research ideas, new approaches, and unusual ways of solving urgent social problems. Essays selected by the editors will be shortlisted. The results will be announced in the summer of 2020 - participants will be notified by email. Before submitting your application, read carefully the conditions on the project website.
